Houston Furniture Bank to be Honored at ARTS Awards Gala

The Houston Furniture Bank, a 25-year-old non-profit that provides home furnishings to needy individuals and families, will receive a Humanitarian Award at the annual ARTS Awards banquet on Jan. 19 during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market.

The organization is being honored for its assistance to Houston-area families last year following Hurricane Harvey.

“Over the past twenty-five years, the Houston Furniture Bank has been a force of good for the entire region, helping more than 26,000 families,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “Their programs helping children have been especially successful and have ensured that the youngest members of the community live and sleep in comfort.”

“Following the devastation of the recent hurricane, the Houston Furniture Bank went above and beyond to serve up to 70 families a day in order to help rebuild homes in the Houston area,” Morris added. “We congratulate their team, we recognize their importance to the community, and we honor the difference they make in the lives of families.”

The ARTS Awards, presented each January, is the premier international awards program dedicated to home industry excellence and achievement. This year the program is recognizing top manufacturers, retailers, product designers, interior designers, and sales representatives from around the world, as well as Academy of Achievement recipient Randy Eller.

The awards gala will take place at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas.
