Pete Sakaria Gets Merchandising Post at Flair/Minhas

Flair/Minhas, a case goods and upholstery producer and importer, has hired industry veteran Pete Sakaria to oversee its merchandising.

In the newly created post, Sakaria will oversee the company’s merchandising teams in North America and Asia.

“We are pleased to have Pete join us at Flair/Minhas” said Bill Minhas, president and CEO. “His diverse skill set in merchandising and global sourcing will be invaluable as we set new direction in product assortment for import programs and domestic manufacturing that will benefit our retail trade partners.”

Sakaria has 28 years’ experience in furniture retailing, manufacturing and import companies, including The Brick, Dynasty Furniture and Elements International.

“Pete’s experience in design, sourcing and manufacturing is instantly recognizable and his connection to the retail sector is an exciting and welcome benefit to the sales side of our efforts,” added Mark Price, executive vice president for sales and marketing at Flair.

He said Sakaria will be attending this month’s Las Vegas Market.

“I am excited to start with this innovative global company with import capabilities, complemented by domestic North American manufacturing,” said Sakaria. “Bill Minhas and his family have grown into a meaningful supplier to the furniture retailers in Canada and the USA in short 20 years and I look forward to leveraging my experience in adding value to the retail trade.”

The company imports case goods and upholstery, and also operates upholstery factories in Calgary, Alberta, and Asheboro, N.C.
