Custom upholstery manufacturer Nathan Anthony Furniture said its co-founder and lead designer Tina Nicole has been name to the World’s Leading Design Names for 2018, by Design et al magazine.
The list, started in 2015 by the U.K.-based publication, reports on the global design industry to recognize top talents in the areas of product and interior design.
Nicole will be among those profiled in a special issue of Design et al early next year. She shares the recognition for 2018 with Lord David Lindley, a bespoke furniture designer and 2nd Earl of Snowdon, Queen Elizabeth’s second nephew; and Joanna Wood, one of Britain’s leading luxury interior designers.
This fall, Nicole received two International Design and Architecture Awards (IDAA), also organized by Design et al, for Nathan Anthony’s Dali chair and Minx wing sofa. The Dali chair featured an innovative reverse-tufting technique.
Nathan Anthony Furniture was founded in 2005 by Khai Mai and Tina Nicole. As lead designer, Nicole is known in the U.S. and abroad for her experimentation with specialty construction techniques, in the application of fabric and leather to upholstery frames.
