Bob’s, Chicago Blackhawks Refurbish Portion of Girls Home

Bob’s Discount Furniture teamed with the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks to refurbish the Common Room at Mercy Home’s Walsh Girls Campus, a home for girls who have suffered from abuse and neglect.

Bob’s donated furniture, flooring and painting for the project, and its employees were assisted by Blackhawks Coach Joe Quenneville and his wife, Elizabeth, who helped put the finishing touches on the room.

The refurbished room was unveiled as a surprise to the residents when they returned home from school. The Quennevilles then met with the girls, who later attended a dinner party to celebrate the makeover of the room.

The Walsh Girls Campus is located at a mansion originally owned by the Walgreen family, who founded the Walgreen’s drug store chain.
