BDI Website Honored for Visual Appeal, User Experience

Contemporary furniture resource BDI said its website has received a 2017 Gold Award from W3 in the category of visual appeal and experience.
The W3 Awards honor creative excellence on the web and recognize the creative and marketing professionals behind winning websites. Winners are selected by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts.
Redesigned earlier this year in partnership with the digital design firm Viget, the BDI website offers visitors an in-depth and personal view of the inspiration behind each collection. Intuitive navigation allows for a rich user experience, and easy access to images, videos, creative materials, and resources makes the site an important tool for retailers and consumers.
“We redesigned the website with a mission of representing both the originality of BDI’s designs and the functionality of our collections,” said Dave Adams, BDI’s director of marketing. “In many ways, BDI furniture needs to be experienced to truly understand the thoughtful engineering and features that make our designs unique.”
“Our new site brings the visitor one step closer to understanding and appreciating our designs. This award is a great validation for all of the hard work and design strategy that went into creating a website that is not only beautifully designed, but provides valuable information for the industry,” he added.
This was the 12th year the W3 awards have been announced, with recognitions including “Best In Show,” “Gold,” and “Silver.” More than 5,000 entries were received with each website being evaluated on a 100- point scale. Less than 10% of entries were selected as “Gold” winners.
