Theodore Alexander Hires Doris Phua as CEO

The company said Phua is replacing Harvey Dondero, who has left the company to pursue other interests.

Phua has 30 years’ experience in the luxury furnishings market, most recently as CEO of high-end Asian retailer Da Vinci Group, a company founded by Phua and her husband, Tony Phua.

Da Vinci Group has been a Theodore Alexander distributor for the past 18 years, the company said.

“This appointment is a fantastic opportunity for Theodore Alexander,” the company’s board of directors said in a statement announcing Phua’s hiring. “Dr. Phua has a proven track record of successful leadership and we look forward to her vision for the growth of Theodore Alexander.”

In January, Theodore Alexander was acquired by the Asian investment fund Creative Home Furniture Co.
