WithIt Plaque Unveiling Honors 20th Anniversary

As part of a year-long celebration of WithIt’s 20th anniversary, the women’s leadership development network for the home and furnishings industries dedicated a bronze plaque during this month’s High Point Fall Market in the Historic Market Square building. The plaque honors the founders, founding board of directors and founding advisory council.

The permanent marker spotlights the group’s mission, to encourage and develop leadership, mentoring, education and networking opportunities for professional women in the home and furnishings industries.

WithIt chose to honor the founding board of directors and founding advisory committee, who worked to raise funds, recruit members, create programs and build the organizational framework as a permanent recognition that women have had a significant influence on the industry.

International Market Centers partnered with the group to sponsor the plaque and provide a highly visible wall for its permanent location.

“We are so thankful that IMC has generously provided us with the space and opportunity to design a lasting tribute to celebrate the many women who worked so tirelessly to create WithIt,” said Dorian Stacy Sims, WithIt’s 2017 president and president of Stacy Furniture and Design in Dallas.

“Now, 20 years later, we are grateful for their vision, commitment and determination for WithIt and the positive impact it has had on so many in our industry,” continued Sims.

The formal unveiling took place on Friday, Oct. 13, and was attended by IMC management, WithIt members and leadership, as well as founders Jena Hall and Kimberley Wray and several founding members and sponsors. The third founder, Margaret “Peggy” Traub, passed away in 2013.
