Brenda Dillon has joined Michigan-based retailer Art Van Furniture in the newly created position of director of e-commerce merchandising.
Dillon, who has extensive merchandising experience in the home furnishings industry, will report to Michele Azar, chief digital officer at Art Van. Her primary responsibilities are overseeing and directing the purchase and merchandising of all products featured and sold on the retailer’s website, including products shipped from the company’s warehouse as well as those shipped directly from vendors to clients.
“Brenda is an essential component of Art Van’s expanding e-commerce equation,” said Kim Yost, president and CEO. “We are revamping our e-commerce efforts in 2018, and Brenda’s vast expertise within the furniture industry will be key to reenergizing the guest experience online.”
Dillon has been with Ashley Furniture for the past eight years, serving most recently as vice president of merchandising and product development, where she was responsible for all product development and assortment management for more than 700 stores.
Prior to joining Ashley, she was vice president of merchandising at CR-Home, merchandise manager for Broyhill Furniture, and a buyer for May Company.
“I’m delighted to be partnered with Michele Azar as we work to accelerate Art Van Furniture’s e-commerce platforms to new levels,” said Dillon. “Our plan is to customize an online guest experience that is easy, delightful and becomes a number-one choice for home furnishings consumers.”
