Ismail Arsian Named President of ITA Board

Ismail Arsian of DeLeo Textiles has been named president of the board of directors of the International Textile Alliance, producer of the twice-yearly Showtime fabric fair.

Other new officers include Kelly DiFoggio of JLA Home Fabrics was elected vice president, and Kathryn Richardson of Libeco, who was elected as treasurer. All of the new officers will serve two-year terms.

In addition, Mendy Kearns of Hamilton Fabric Sales and Katherine Shoaf of STI have joined the 11-member board.

Kearns began her textile career in 2012 when she was hired to transition into the management of Hamilton Fabric Sales upon impending retirement of the current president. Her background in accounting and human resources gave her the experience needed to run the daily operations of the family owned business. She now assists with both selling and buying at Hamilton.

Shoaf is the director of design and merchandising for STI. She has 18 years of experience in the industry working for companies including Highland House, Thomasville, Southern, Motioncraft, Se7en and Victor Group. In her current role at STI she works with the design team on new product.

Other returning board members include Brian Bunch, Greenhouse Fabrics; Tom Forrester, Berkley Home Furniture; Jana Platina Phipps, Classical Elements; and Jesse Rector, Portfolio International. In addition, Todd Nifong has been elected chairman of the ITA Educational Foundation.
