Ashley, Wanek Family Award $245K in College Scholarships

More than 100 children of Ashley Furniture Inds. employees have been awarded scholarships worth more than $245,000 for the current school year.
The scholarships, funded by the company and the founding Wanek family, recognize recent high school graduates who are furthering their education at an accredited college or university.
One scholarship program, the Ashley Grants in Aid Scholarship, provides a one-time $2,000 stipend for students majoring in any field of study, while the Wanek Engineering and Design scholarship provides a one-time grant of $3,333.33 to those pursuing a degree in an engineering or design field.
Over the years, Ashley and the Wanek family have provided more than 2,000 student scholarships.
