Capel Rugs has appointed veteran textile designer Cindy Green as product design and development assistant.
In her new post, Green will assist with domestic and import product development as well as sample development and sales coordination. Her product development responsibilities will include providing design and creative input for the Capel line of proprietary products, licensed products and import products.
Green also will assist with the development of new yarn systems required for domestic product development.
She will report to Richard Capel, director of manufacturing; John Harrison, general manager of the company's import division; and Cameron Capel, vice president of national accounts.
“We are so excited to have Cindy on our team,” said Cameron Capel, “She is a highly talented designer with an exceptional eye for emerging fashion trends. Her experience on the fabric side of the business will be a valuable asset as we continue to develop new lines to meet the ever-evolving needs of consumers and our customers.”
Green joins Capel Rugs from Global Textile Alliance, where she was the first designer hired by GTA and served for 14 years as senior designer. Previous to that, Green was a stylist and print designer for Culp Home Fashions.
"I am thrilled to be joining Capel Rugs at this exciting time in its history,” said Green. “The company is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and I am looking forward to contributing to Capel Rugs’ rich legacy of best-selling rug designs as we head into the next century.”
