Customatic Taps Sleboda for First CFO Appointment

Retail custom sleep solutions provider Customatic Adjustable Bedz has hired Thomas Sleboda an experienced certified public accountant as its first CFO. He will be responsible for the company’s strategic forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis.

Sleboda has held a number of positions with a variety of companies, including vice president and CFO at Virginia-based Maggie’s Enterprises, which operated 25 mattress discounters stores in Virginia and North Carolina. Sleboda advised the owners during its sale to Mattress Firm in 2010.

Most recently, Sleboda was the CFO of RP55 Group, a Virginia-based apparel company, where he created new financial reporting and restructured tax reporting. He also worked as an independent contractor and worked with Florida bedding retailer to assist with the sale and subsequent transition of the company.

“We’re thrilled to have Tom join the Customatic Adjustable Bedz team,” said Phil Sherman, managing director with Customatic Adjustable Bedz. “Our recent growth warrants the addition of a chief financial officer, and Tom’s expertise in forecasting, systems implementation and analysis will help us become more proactive and disciplined in our approach to the business.”

Sleboda earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Old Dominion University. In addition to his professional career, Sleboda spent 10 years in the U.S. Navy where he was a diver and a Navy Seal.
