Nearly 23% of the nation’s renters moved from 2015 to 2016, but only 5% of homeowners changed residences, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
Renters, in fact, accounted for about two-thirds of all movers, the Census Bureau said.
Of the 108.2 million renters, 24.8 million were movers (22.9 percent), compared to just 5 percent of owners. Only 10.3 million people in owner-occupied units moved last year.
