Bunakara to Make Inaugural Showing at NY Now Market

Bunakara, a high-end resource for furniture, home accents and textiles, will be exhibiting for the first time this month at NY Now, a gift and home décor market that takes place Aug. 20-23.

The 600-square-foot showroom will feature the Fingerprint Collection Pure Chair, an acacia wood armchair finished with a matte varnish and then upholstered with natural linen burlap on the inside and outside back. The seat is upholstered in ivory linen, which also is used for distinctive tie-on arm pads.

In addition, the eight-drawer Timeless Commode which will be offered in a new pure ivory finish this summer. Crafted of mango wood, the piece features intricate bronze sand-cast hardware on the soft-close drawers and is paired with a contemporary base in a matching finish.

“NY Now is a great opportunity for us to meet with buyers from around the world as well as introduce our brand to the design community and key media outlets in New York,” said Dixon Bartlett, national sales and marketing director for Bunakara. “We’ve opened up new business as result of our participation in similar regional markets this summer, including the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market and most recently, the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market.”

Bunakara founder and principal designer Joana Aranha, and her daughter Marta Aranha, will be on-site throughout the market. Together, they will meet with customers and the media to provide deeper insight into product inspiration and the detailed craftsmanship of each product.

The showroom is Booth 2640 of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
