Pressley to Oversee Operations at Spectra Home, Palatial

Industry veteran Christine Pressley has been named to the newly-created post of operations manager for stationary upholstery producers Spectra Home and Palatial Furniture.

Spectra and Palatial are divisions of Shayne International Holdings Ltd. The companies are merging operations but will maintain separate showrooms and marketing efforts.

According to Bill Cubberley, president of Spectra Home, Pressley’s extensive background in retailing, manufacturing, sales management, customer service and operations make her the ideal candidate to fill the new operations role.

“Christine’s intimate understanding of retailers’ needs, combined with her considerable talents in the areas of customer care and satisfaction, as well as her experience in management and logistics will enable us to further build on the strengths of these two companies,” Cubberley said. “We are very pleased to have an executive of her caliber assume this position and look forward to the improvements she will make in each of these areas.”

Pressley began her career in the home furnishings business on the sales floor of Boyles Furniture in 1989, eventually working her way up into management of multiple store locations. She took to the road as a manufacturer’s representative for Dan River and Southeastern Fabrics, and later, Clayton Marcus, where she also handled inside sales for large accounts such as Raymour & Flanigan and Sofa Express.

She has served as operations manager of Palatial Furniture for the past five years.

“I’m very excited about the opportunity to develop and merge the operational synergies of Spectra Home and Palatial Furniture, making the whole greater than either company already is individually,” Pressley said. “We have a wonderful team of talented people coming together to grow these companies and this move is the obvious next professional step for me personally. All roads have been leading me to this moment.”

Both companies warehouse product in High Point, N.C., and Southern California.
