FastFact: Vacancy Rates Shrink as Housing Market Strengthens

As the housing industry continues its post-Recession rebound, vacancy rates among rental units and homeowner units keep declining, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
The data showed that rental vacancies are at their lowest rate in more than 30 years, while homeowner vacancies are at their lowest in more than 10 years.
Rental vacancies are lowest inside metro areas, while homeowner vacancies are lowest in the suburbs, according to the Census Bureau.
