Retailer Kane’s Furniture has named veteran retail and manufacturing executive Daniel Kennedy as chief operating officer.
Kennedy has more than 30 years of experience in the furniture industry -- 16 of which have been at a senior executive level. Most recently, he was vice president of marketing and sales for home furnishings at Flexsteel Inds., where he successfully developed product to increase top line growth by $15 million in his first year.
He began his career as a sales manager at Highland Home Furnishings after graduating from Vennard College. Kennedy then served as president of Selling Retail International, Kloss Furniture Companies and Belfort Furniture prior to becoming the director of case goods and then vice president of marketing and sales at Flexsteel.
“Dan’s experience and knowledge in the furniture business will serve as an important asset to Kane’s Furniture,” said Irwin Novack, president and CEO of the Tampa, Fla.-based, 18-store retailer. “We are pleased to have him join the Kane’s team and look forward to using his expertise to grow the company further.”
