Upholstery and case good resource Flexsteel Inds. (NASDAQ: FLXS) has promoted Tim Newlin to vice president of its home furnishings business.
In his new post, Newlin, who joined Flexsteel as a sales trainee in 1997, will oversee whole home soft seating and case goods sold by furniture retailers.
Newlin is replacing Dan Kennedy, who recently was named chief operating officer of retailer Kane’s Furniture.
After his stint as a sales trainee, Newlin was promoted to a home furnishings sales representative in 1998 before moving into sales management in 2005. He was promoted to the new position of national sales director for the Flexsteel home furnishings business in 2016.
“Tim’s 20 years of dedicated service with Flexsteel and his extensive experience within the furniture industry position him for success in this role,” said Karel Czanderna, president and CEO. “He has earned the confidence of our customer and supplier base, which build on his strong internal relationships.”
“I am excited to lead the home furnishings business and continue working with the excellent team already in place,” said Newlin. “I am proud to honor the traditions of our company while adapting and changing to grow and serve our customers today and long into the future.”
