RoomPlace Opens 6th Store in Indianapolis Market

RoomPlace LogoThe RoomPlace has expanded its footprint in Indianapolis with the opening of a 70,000-square-foot store and 100,000-square-foot distribution center on the East Side of the city.

The store is the retailer’s 25th location in Illinois and Indiana, and its sixth in the Indianapolis market.

The newest store, which includes a 16,000-square-foot clearance center, is a former Levitz Furniture site that had been vacant for more than 15 years.

"We are always working towards ways to provide our customers with better services and selection, and our new store and distribution center achieves those goals," said Paul Adams, CEO. "Our customers have consistently demonstrated their loyalty to us over the years and we look forward to rewarding them with an elite shopping experience with the product selection at great prices that they have come to expect from The RoomPlace."

RoomPlace Chairman Bruce Berman said the property was owned by Sandor, one of the nation’s biggest shopping center developers. As part of a larger partnership with Sandor and its CEO, Sidney Eskenazi, The RoomPlace donated $150,000 last summer to Eskenazi Health in support of the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital and Eskenazi Health campus.

“We are excited about expanding our Midwest footprint and growing our involvement in this market. We take pride in bettering the communities where we live and work and look forward to creating 100 new jobs through our new location," said Berman. "As a family-owned company we are always working to uphold our community-focused legacy. It has been a privilege to serve Indianapolis and we are eager to see the lasting impact we can make with this new facility."
