2017 by Larry Thomas in Industry, Special Events
The California Furniture Manufacturers Assn. will honor upholstery producer Pacific West Furniture and two individuals who have helped the group increase membership during its annual industry social and awards ceremony on Aug.19.
The luau-themed event will take place at the American Legion in Newport Beach, Calif.
Pacific West Furniture will receive the group’s “Manufacturer of the Year” award, which recognizes the company’s efforts to promote and protect the furniture industry in California.
CFMA officials said Pacific West founder Burt Grimes is the group’s liaison to several state regulatory bodies, and keeps members apprised of the latest regulatory issues.
Also being honored are Pascal Benyamini and Richard Masters, who CFMA said have helped boost the group’s membership by nearly 30% in two years. The two will receive the CFMA President’s Award.
Benyamini is a partner in the Los Angeles office of the Drinker Biddle law firm. He focuses on employment law, counsels manufacturers on regulatory and business matters, and has published numerous articles of interest to employers.
Masters is a vice president with the insurance firm Andreini & Company, and has a vast knowledge of the furniture industry and insurance best practices, according to CFMA. He too has published many articles that educate CFMA members and help them make sound business decisions.
The event is open to anyone in the furniture industry. Table sponsorships are available this year for $500.
