Bunakara Hires Tamara Lockman as Sales Manager

Tamara_LockmanBunakara, a resource for high-end furniture, home accents and textiles, has named Tamara Lockman to the newly created position of sales manager.

Lockman will manage the company’s U.S. sales team and coordinate all aspects of exhibiting at a variety of markets, including the High Point Furniture Market, the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, and the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market.

With more than 15 years of experience in the gift and home furnishings industry, Lockman’s experience includes design, research and discovering what speaks to consumers.

Most recently, she was president of wholesale company T. Lockman LLC, where she oversaw the sale of high design home goods and accessories, along with importing products and materials from around the globe. Over the course of her career, Lockman has also held positions in showroom management and sales for Design Legacy by Kelly O’Neal, Libeco-Lagae and Lynn Courtade Inc.

“Adding Tamara to our team supports our focus on growing our distribution and the Bunakara brand in the U.S. market” said Dixon Bartlett, U.S. national sales and marketing director. “As we continue to build our support team at our Bunakara headquarters, Tamara’s background and experience in the industry will be a tremendous benefit for us.”

According to Lockman, growing the Bunakara brand in the United States is not simply about introducing consumers to a new product line. Rather, it is about telling the Bunakara story from the handcrafted – and sometimes unexpected – details to the authentic, quality materials.

“I’m very excited about introducing buyers to something new, something unexpected, something almost inexplicable,” said Lockman. “It is both complex and simple, altogether. But always, it is beautiful.”

Bunakara’s products are handcrafted in India using natural materials. They are designed by Joana Aranha, an international Portuguese designer of residential and commercial interiors, retail store concepts and home furnishings.
