New Pleasant Mattress Video Spotlights History, Culture

Pleasant_MattressAs a continuation of a rebranding started last year, independent mattress manufacturer Pleasant Mattress has commissioned a video to highlight the company’s history, culture and manufacturing capabilities.

The company said the 13-minute video, housed on the company’s website, will be used to tout its efficiencies, manufacturing prowess and growth, as well as help retail sales associates better tell the Pleasant Mattress story to consumers.

“We are extremely proud of the Pleasant Mattress story, and this video captures the essence of who we are, what we do and how we operate,” said Rion Morgenstern, president and CEO. “We are excited to share it with our business partners throughout the industry and expect it to be a valuable resource for RSAs as they share the Pleasant Mattress manufacturing story with consumers looking to buy a solid night’s sleep.”

Founded nearly 60 years ago by Austrian immigrants, Pleasant Mattress has retail distribution in Southern California, Arizona and Eastern Nevada. Brands in the company’s portfolio include its newly launched Maxx line, and the company also has licensing deals with national brands Spring Air, Chattam and Wells, Eclipse and Eastman House.

The video features interviews with Morgenstern and his father Herb Morgenstern, who is now the company’s chairman. In addition, the company’s manufacturing manager, a warehouse supervisor, a sewing machine operator and other employees help trace the company’s humble beginnings in 1959.

Herb tells the story of his parents’ immigration from Austria during World War II and the path Ernie Morgenstern took to lay the foundation of the company.

“Our industry has been consumed by equity purchases in recent years. Our key objective was to communicate the family story behind our products in the market; that’s what makes us different today. We are an independently owned, family- and community-oriented company that you will find great value working with or working for,” added Rion Morgenstern. “We are grateful not only for our wonderful heritage, but for the passion and dedication of our employees and the products they deliver every day for our customers. This video is to help us share that passion.”

A film crew from MWPost, a Santa Monica, Calif.-based advertising and production agency, spent two days at the company’s Fresno, Calif., headquarters and factory to document the Pleasant Mattress story.

The video can be viewed here online.
