Bob’s Furniture Donates to Hugs for Brady Foundation

Bob’s Furniture opened its new location this week in the Target shopping plaza on Route 1 in South Brunswick, NJ by donating $1,000 to the Hugs For Brady Foundation.

“I was deeply touched for our foundation to receive an ‘act of kindness’ from Bob’s Furniture and to be part of the company’s new location celebration,” foundation founder Sherrie Wells said. “Our vital work with eliminating pediatric cancer is boosted by our very generous corporate community.”

In a letter dated this month, Bob’s chose Hugs For Brady to be part of its “Random Acts of Kindness” program that donates to various local charities.

Mike and Sherrie Wells started the Hugs For Brady Foundation after their 18-month-old son, Brady, was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer.

Brady succumbed to the disease in 2010 and the foundation has since raised more than $1 million to research various childhood cancers as well as providing resources and support for children battling the disease.

According to the company, the Random Acts of Kindness program gives additional aid to schools and programs for children, and at least one Random Act of Kindness is fulfilled, each month.

According to the letter, the company donates $1,000 to a random charity in the community when a new store is opened.

In total, the company said it donates more than $1 million each year.

Thanks to the generosity of donors at its recent Winter Gala, the foundation donated 10 PlayStation 4 consoles to the oncology rooms at the Bristol-Meyers Squibb Children’s Hospital in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ the foundation said.
