BDI Launches New Enhanced User Experience Website

Furniture designer and manufacturer BDI has announced the launch of its newly redesigned website this week with a focus on design innovation and an enhanced user experience.
The website still resides at www.bdiusa.com, but the new version better emphasizes the designs and innovative features that set apart BDI’s media furniture, office solutions, tables, bars and modular systems. The site offers visitors an in-depth view of the inspiration behind the collections, improved and intuitive navigation for a richer user experience, and is fully responsive with mobile, desktop and tablet devices.
“As a company that has been around for more than 30 years, we have a lot to say about what great design can – and should – be for home, entertainment and office furniture. Our website plays an important role in sharing our brand and vision with consumers and retail partners alike,” said Dave Adams, BDI’s director of marketing.
“The new BDI website includes more intimate views of our furniture and features, provides a narrative of the design process, and illustrates how these designs resolve consumer challenges,” Adams said.
With enhanced functionality, the site guides users through the creation and innovation behind BDI’s collections. Visitors are also able to view complementary and related BDI products offering multiple views of each design, including interactive image galleries in every finish available.
In consideration of BDI’s retailers, the new website includes an easy to use retail locator to guide consumers to the nearest location. An enhanced retail partner intranet area, with access to images, videos, creative materials and product sheets, makes the site an important resource for retailers.
The new site was designed in partnership with Viget, a Northern Virginia-based digital strategy and design firm.
“It was particularly refreshing to partner with a team such as Viget where they became so deeply aware of our goals and mission that it was difficult to tell where our internal team stopped and Viget began. We are so proud of the site and how it will benefit our retail partners and their consumers – it has been a great collaboration,” said Lorri Kelley president of BDI.
According to Adams, the ultimate goal of the redesign was to represent both the originality of BDI’s designs and the everyday functionality of the collection.
“For too long, consumers have had to make a choice between furniture that’s strikingly beautiful, and furniture that’s highly functional,” said Adams. “BDI provides consumers with both and our brand new website illustrates this beautifully,” Adams said.
