Crystorama Lights-Up Seven One Room Challenge Projects

Now in its eleventh season, the One Room Challenge is a biannual design challenge organized by Linda Weinstein of Calling It Home, a leading do-it-yourself blogger with more than 17,000 followers on Pinterest. Twice a year in April and Oct., Calling It Home challenges 20 top designers and design bloggers to transform a room in their home, or the home of a client, over a six-week period and document their makeover process in a series of weekly online posts.

“It’s always so exciting to see how these amazingly creative designers use our unique lighting fixtures to transform and energize their rooms,” said Brad Kleinberg, president of Crystorama Lighting, a challenge sponsor for the third straight year.  

“The gorgeous designs created by this season’s talented group show how the right lighting adds zest to any room setting — from traditional to contemporary and everything in between,” said Kleinberg.

Each Wednesday during the six-week challenge, the designers provide an online update on their progress, sharing photos, advice and insights with a loyal following of design enthusiasts through their websites as well as social media. In the sixth week, the completed makeovers of all twenty rooms are unveiled across all the participating websites in a “reveal.” 

The reveal took place on May 10, with participants sharing their posts with followers on various blogs and social media channels.

This season, Joanna Gick of J & J Design Group in Scottsdale, Ariz., and Kate Riley of Centsational Girl in Petaluma, Calif., both selected Crystorama’s large-scale Luna chandelier in a trendy matte white-and-antique gold finish for their projects. One of Crystorama’s best-selling models, Luna features a series of bold, spherical shapes created with bands of sleek metal reminiscent of ribbon.

Another designer incorporating Crystorama Lighting in her project was Holly Hollingsworth Phillips of The English Room in Charlotte, N.C. Phillips chose Crystorama’s Drake fixture for her project — a bedroom and closet remodel. Drake’s modern design features a bold fusion of solid chunky lucite and geometric crossbars in a nickel finish.

Other Crystorama fixtures featured in this season’s One Room Challenge included: The Calypso chandelier, a Midcentury Modern design used in a living room redesign; Galileo, a ceiling mount fixture with a starburst design in forged bronze with an iron finish; Zodiac, a one-of-a-kind Sputnik-style chandelier in polished nickel and matte white; and wall sconces from the Parson Collection.

Crystorama, a leader in the lighting industry was recognized by the home furnishings industry as the top lighting fixtures manufacturer at the 26^th annual ARTS awards.
