Barclay Butera to Receive 2017 BOLD Master Award

The Business of Luxury Design (BOLD) Summit, the business conference for principal designers, has announced designer, author and television personality Barclay Butera as the first BOLD Master Award Winner to join the 2017 Summit roster. Butera is the first of three BOLD Master Award recipients to be announced and will present to fellow principal designers at the conference taking place Sept. 25 – 27, at the Auditorium Theater in Downtown Chicago.

Butera is known for his approachable elegance and glamorous, coastal-chic interiors. He established Barclay Butera Interiors in Newport, Calif., in 1994 and has since opened showrooms in Corona Del Mar, and Park City, Utah. His inspirations are drawn from a diverse variety of architecture from coast to coast, European and Far Eastern influences, high-fashion runways and his world travels.

“The BOLD Summit provides advanced-level business development and collaboration for principal designers. One of the best learning experiences attendees benefit from, is sitting down in small groups with legendary designers like Barclay Butera. It’s rare to experience this kind of open sharing and collaboration with such an outstanding group of designers,” says Julia Molloy, Owner BOLD Summit and Julia Molloy Consulting.

Butera’s accolades include being named one of House Beautiful’s Top 125 designers and Top 25 Furniture Manufacturers along with Luxe Interiors + Design’s Gold List. He has hosted and designed spaces for events at the Sundance Film Festival and Hearst Castle. Butera also has spoken on panel discussions held by the Wall Street Journal, Dwell, American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and Architectural Digest.

“We are incredibly honored to present Barclay with a BOLD Master Award this year.  His contribution to the industry cannot be overstated and I know his presentation and round table discussion will be a rare glimpse into his beautiful world and filled with wisdom and inspiration for all those who attend,” said Molloy.

A resource for business development and collaboration in the design industry, the 2017 Business of Luxury Design Summit will feature workshops, round table discussions and presentations on topics such as PR, creating a revenue stream with product lines, online marketing strategies, building referral networks, mastering profit margins and more.

Cost for attendance for limited time early bird registration is $2,795 and $3,495 for open registration.
