Najarian Furniture to Build Three-Story High Point Showroom

Case goods resource Najarian Furniture has acquired a vacant lot at 113 West Green Drive in downtown High Point, where it plans to build a three-story, 40,000 square-foot showroom.

The company said it will break ground for the showroom building in June, and completion is scheduled for early spring 2018.

“With the growth of our company, the lifestyle brand we’ve created, as well as our belief in culturing strong, lasting relationships, it’s essential we have a space that’s perfectly suited for our current and long term business goals,” said company President Michael Najarian.

The family-owned company, founded in 1974, has been exhibiting at the High Point Market for about 30 years, and has maintained a showroom in the 220 Elm building since 2009.

“We’re very excited about what this means for our company and are so grateful to our loyal customers and friends for making this possible,” said Najarian. “We’d be remiss too, if we didn’t thank Heinz Kattenfeld and the 220 Elm team. They have been incredibly accommodating and great to work with. They have certainly played a big part in our success and we will remain in their debt.”

The site is located near the intersection of Green Drive and South Elm Street. A service station was operated there from 1961 to 1997, but the building was razed in 1997.

The company has hired High Point-based Robbins Architecture to design the structure, which will have a modern, French-inspired look.
