North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper will be among the speakers at tomorrow’s ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration for the new Christopher Guy showroom building at 129 S. Hamilton St.
The event begins at 3 p.m. Following remarks from Cooper and other dignitaries, the governor will tour the 20,000 square-foot showroom, which is owned by International Market Centers.
After the Christopher Guy tour, Cooper will walk to the Universal Furniture showroom at 101 S. Hamilton St. for a tour led by Universal President Jeff Scheffer, who also is chairman of the High Point Market Authority board.
Cooper was sworn in as North Carolina’s 75th governor in January following a narrow victory over incumbent Pat McCrory. He previously was the state’s attorney general.
