Customatic Recalls 50,000 Adjustable Beds for Possible Shock Hazard

Customatic, a major supplier of adjustable beds, has issued a voluntary recall of about 50,000 units because of a possible electric shock hazard from the bed’s side-mounted AC outlets.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the outlets may be incorrectly wired, and the agency urged consumers to immediately stop using the AC plug and contact the company to arrange for a free inspection and repair.

The agency said no incidents or injuries have been reported.

The adjustable beds were sold at Sleepy’s and other mattress stores from June 2012 to January 2017.

According to CPSC, the recall involves 14 Customatic models, and said the model numbers can be found on the metal frame near the foot of the bed. Click here for a complete list of model numbers involved in the recall. https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2017/Customatic-Beds-Recalls-Adjustable-Beds

Consumers may contact Customatic toll-free at 844-815-9023 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern time, Monday through Saturday, or visit www.customaticbeds.com and click on “recall notice” for more information.
