Castelle’s Furnishing the Great Outdoors Presentation Approved for CEU Credits

The Designer Sales Division of Castelle has recently received approval for its presentation, “Furnishing the Great Outdoors - Tomorrow's Opportunity, Here Today” for Continuing Education Units (CEU). Created to educate design professionals about the outdoor segment, the presentation has been approved by the Interior Design Continuing Education Council (IDCEC).  Research about elements of style, furnishings and outdoor trends as well as the sales potential of the category are covered within the sixty-minute talk.

“We recognize the need to educate the designer segment with regard to the outdoor category and its potential,” said Derek Ritzel, CEO, Castelle. “With this presentation achieving the CEU approval, design professionals will now also be able to earn needed credits while acquiring this category-specific information and insight.”

The presentation has been approved for a renewable two year period via a submission process through the IDCEC.  The IDCEC website notes that “Continuing education strengthens the interior design profession by improving individual attitudes, competencies, knowledge and skills in specific subject areas essential to interior design.”  This governing concern monitors, approves and tracks CEU for design professionals.  Each presentation is reviewed to meet requirements of the group.  Multiple members of the Castelle Design Sales division including the Director of Designer Sales, Melissa Roman, are approved to conduct the presentation.

Topics within the presentation include history and growth of the outdoor category, market share and research of the category and reasons for designing for the outdoor room as well as outdoor living trends. Design groups interested in hosting the presentation can contact Roman.

“The development of this presentation was in keeping with the professional goals of the CEU process,” said Roman. “With our desire to encourage designers to embrace the outdoor segment, the more we can assist in this process, the better equipped they will be as the category continues to grow.”
