Five retail sales associates who won a Stearns & Foster national sweepstakes recently visited New York City, where they met with HGTV star Jonathan Scott and heard a presentation from a craftsman who builds Stearns & Foster mattresses.
Scott, star of the "Property Brothers" show, is in his second year working with the upper-end mattress brand as part of a design-focused national advertising campaign, according to officials at Tempur Sealy International, which owns the Stearns & Foster brand.
At the New York event, Scott showed the group newly designed loft bedrooms featuring the S&F Reserve and Estate collections. He discussed the craftsmanship of the beds with the RSAs, and explained how to transition rooms from season to season.
The RSAs chosen for the event were part of a national sweepstakes encouraging retail associates to learn more about the brand, its philosophy and product lines. They received an all-expenses paid trip to the Big Apple, including the meeting with Scott and master craftsman Joe Kavanaugh from Albany, NY.
Kavanaugh, who has been with Stearns & Foster for 16 years and has created tens of thousands of beds, shared his experience with RSAs, including the focus put on craftsmanship and the finest materials that are built into Stearns & Foster products.
“What a great way to learn more about Stearns & Foster,” said Brandi Hood, store manager at a Sleep Outfitters store in Lexington, Ky. “Meeting an actual craftsman and learning how the mattress is put together really motivated me to get back to my store and share this information. Seeing New York City for the first time didn’t hurt either."
