Mattress producer Englander Sleep Products and Bedding World Co. Ltd. of Taiwan have signed a licensing agreement enabling Bedding World to manufacture and market Englander’s entire line of coil- and foam-based collections.
Englander President and CEO Kevin Toman said Bedding World will make Englander products in its 180,000-square-foot factory, which currently ships to 34 Bedding World retail stores across Taiwan.
Representing the first bedding chain store brand in the island nation, Bedding World is preparing to go public on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) in October, and has plans to open additional stores in Taiwan and China in the near future.
Bedding World principals Jason and Mark Chen said their company will be the first mattress firm in Taiwan to be listed on the exchange, which was launched in 1972 and is based in Taipei.
The Chens also announced the launch of Angela Bedding, an innovative smart bed that uses fiber optic technology.
“We’re very pleased with our license agreement with Bedding World and with the growth and success that the company continues to generate,” Toman said. “We look forward to a long partnership with what we believe is a first-class international bedding organization.”
With the addition of Bedding World Co., Englander now has 21 international licensees.
