Fund-raising efforts for the annual West Coast Golf & Tennis Tournament to benefit City of Hope were launched recently when officials from case goods and upholstery resource Parker House Furniture toured the City of Home campus in Los Angeles.
The group is hoping to raise $700,000 from the June 12 tournament to benefit cancer and diabetes research at City of Hope.
“City of Hope’s campus tour was an amazing experience. It really shed light on all the incredible work being done to advance cancer and diabetes research, as well as treating patients every day,” said Parker House CEO Chris Lupo, one of two Parker House executives who will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the event.
The golf and tennis outing will be held at the Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club. Organizers said golfers will enjoy first class treatment as they experience a variety of contests and on-course entertainment throughout the two courses designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr.
Activities include a putting contest led by LPGA champion and World Golf Hall of Famer Amy Alcott.
All players and dinner guests will enjoy a silent and live auction, which will include trips to Hawaii, an extensive Wine Cellar, Brighton and Pandora jewelry, and unique packages for the entire family.
The day concludes with a buffet dinner and award ceremony to salute the contest winners and honorees from Parker House Furniture. Lupo and Victor Zonni, the company’s chief operating officer, will receive Lifetime Achievement Awards at the dinner.
