Custom Suit Maker to Visit Universal Showroom at Premarket

For gentlemen looking to improve their wardrobe this spring, Universal Furniture is hosting custom men’s clothier Alton Lane -- and its mobile fitting room – during next week’s High Point Premarket.

Universal officials said premarket visitors can check out the clothier’s mobile fitting room at Universal’s South Hamilton Street showroom Sunday, March 12, and Monday, March 13.

Alton Lane President and Co-founder Peyton Jenkins will give a private presentation to the Universal Furniture sales force on Sunday in the Learning Center, reviewing the psychology of apparel and performance. Afterward, the clothing company will hold custom fittings in the mobile fitting room.

“Alton Lane’s visit ensures our sales force is up to speed on the latest trends,” said Director of Marketing Neil MacKenzie, “and that our gentlemen are positioned for success in the field.”

The Richmond, Va.-based custom men’s clothier is driving the 400-year-old custom suiting industry into the 21st century by combining private appointment shopping, a lean supply chain and direct fabric sourcing to give clients a world-class experience at exceptional value, officials said.

During the fitting, more than 400 measurements are taken in less than 30 seconds by a 3D body scanner. Showroom directors then adjust the garments to the client’s preferences. Garments are laser cut in advanced production facilities before everything is shipped to the client.
