Kingsdown Execs Featured in NPR Story

Damewood, executive vice president of sales and marketing, and Oexman, director of the Sleep To Live Institute, were featured in a story called “Mattress No Longer Delegated to Bottom of Shopping List” that aired on NPR’s popular Morning Edition news program. The two gave insight into the shopping habits of the ever-changing consumer and the importance of an in-store “rest test.”
The article referenced a recent survey by The Better Sleep Council, which suggested that consumers were replacing their mattresses more often, particularly younger people 18 to 35. The data suggests that this demographic is expected to replace its mattress about once every six years.
“Replacing your current mattress at the appropriate time is a gateway to a better night's sleep and all the benefits promised along with it,” said Damewood. “Educating consumers on the importance of sleep and the impact it has on our health has always been a core component of the Kingsdown mission.”
