Caroline Hipple to Receive WithIt Legacy Award

WithIt, the leadership development group for women in the home and furnishings industries, has named Norwalk Furniture President Caroline Hipple as the 2017 recipient of the Legacy Award, the group’s highest honor.
Hipple, who joined Norwalk last year, has been recognized for her design talent, business savvy and leadership through mentoring many women in the industry. She has supported WithIt throughout the years, serving on the group’s board of directors and governors, speaking at multiple industry events and mentoring future leaders.
The organization also said Kimberley Wray, owner of Kimberley Wray Marketing Communications, has been named winner of the Founders Award for exceptional leadership that exemplifies the mission of WithIt.
Kimberley, one of WithIt’s founders, developed the WithIt acronym and used her extensive industry contacts to build membership.
Hipple, Wray and several other WithIt award winners will be honored April 21 at the group’s Wow Awards banquet. The event begins at 6 p.m. in the International Home Furnishings Center International Ballroom.
WithIt also will present awards for education, mentoring, leadership and future leader.
Nominated for the Education Award are Julie Smith Vincenti of Nine Muses Media; Cindy Hodnett of Design Today and Furniture Today; and Laura Holland of Heritage Home Group.
Nominees for the Mentoring Award are Abby Ludens of Mattress Firm; Dana Helms of MicroD; and Marybeth Feeney of Storis.
Nominees for the Leadership Award are Leadership Award nominees are Randy Rubin of Crypton Fabrics; Suzie Roberts of Glen Raven Custom Fabrics; and Laurie Phillips of Aico.
Nominees for the Future Leader Award, which honors a woman under age 40, are Natalie Quinn of Room and Board; Megan Barrett of Sherrill Furniture Companies; and Carly Weiner are of Elements International.
