Applications Available for Art Van Charity Challenge

Art Van Furniture has opened the application process for charities across the Midwest to compete in its ninth annual Art Van Charity Challenge, which will culminate in the winning charity receiving a $100,000 grant from Art Van Furniture

The three-week campaign will once again be championed by Art Van Charity Challenge Ambassador Cindy Crawford.

"Our success at Art Van Furniture is deeply rooted in our commitment to giving back just as much as we have received from the communities we serve," said Kim Yost, CEO. "We are excited to see this spirited competition return to ignite a new focus and drive for making a difference in the lives of those who need us most."

With Crawford, an international supermodel, businesswoman and philanthropist, partnering with Art Van Furniture for a third consecutive year to promote the event, charities that provide assistance to children, health care and human services are eligible to submit applications through March 28.

The retailer will award a total of $180,000 in grants to the nonprofits, with the grand prize winner receiving a $100,000 grant. The fundraising portion of the challenge will kick off on April 4 at noon, and runs through April 25 at noon.

The winners will be announced on April 26.

"We have all needed someone to step in and graciously offer a helping hand to carry us through a challenging time or experience," said Crawford. "It is an honor for me to once again partner with Art Van Furniture to amplify the message of hundreds of charities in need. In my last three years as ambassador, we have helped countless individuals, and I look forward to another successful year."

Powered by CrowdRise, the Art Van Charity Challenge raised $2.3 million last year. Since the event started in 2009, the retailer has donated more than $8 million and raised over $24 million for more than 350 charities.
