Registration Opens for Canadian Furniture Show
February 28,
2017 by Larry Thomas in Industry, Special Events
Show organizers said the event, Canada’s only national furniture trade show, had more than 230 exhibitors and 7,000 participants last year, but promised the 45th edition will feature a more streamlined format and an enhanced visitor experience.
“Through our surveys, the industry has selected the changes implemented over the past three years. In 2017, our focus is on visitors,” said Pierre Richard, president and CEO of the show. “We plan to enhance the visitor experience through a Lunch & Learn Speaker Series, rest and entertainment areas on the show floor, and an industry cocktail reception on Friday evening, which is ideal for networking.”
Richard said show activities will be concentrated in Halls 1 to 4 and the Conference Centre, as well as the Toronto Area Showrooms and nearby SOFA showrooms.
“In recent years, the floor space wasn’t being fully utilized and there were some empty spaces,” he pointed out. “The 2017 plan includes enough square feet of space to stage a bigger Show than the 2016 edition, which will be more efficient for the visitors.”
Richard urged attendees to book hotel rooms as soon as possible since there’s heavy demand for hotel rooms throughout Toronto in the spring, and two major hotels will be closed for renovations.
Visitors can also benefit from hotel discounts of up to 25%, and any reservation made in the official show hotels before April 28 will provide an automatic entry in a drawing for 25 packages of two free nights’ accommodations.
