Maricich Elected President of Hall of Fame Foundation
February 21,
2017 by Larry Thomas in Executive Changes, Industry
Maricich, who also was elected to another three-year term on the group’s board of directors, is replacing Aico Founder and CEO Michael Amini as president. Amini will serve as board chairman and will remain on the executive committee.
Other new officers are Kevin Castellani, Castellani and Associates, first vice president; Kerry Lebensburger, Ashley Furniture Industries, second vice president; and Jeffrey Child, RC Willey, secretary-treasurer.
In addition to Lebensburger and Child, new directors serving two-year terms are Karel Czanderna, CEO of Flexsteel Industries, and Mark Phillips, CEO of the Phillips Collection
“Largely due to the energizing leadership of Michael Amini, we have repurposed the organization and put a greater emphasis on total board participation, which was evident in 2016,” Maricich said. “Those joining the board demonstrate our continued emphasis on building not only a prestigious board of leaders but one of diversification that more clearly represents our industry.
In addition to Maricich and Castellani, re-elected to three-year terms on the board were retired Sealy President Larry Rogers, and Bill Wittenberg, CEO of Klaussner Furniture Industries.
“The Hall of Fame is the only organization that embraces every category and every role played in the industry, and we all must unite to move forward with our initiatives to tell our story, preserve our history and to honor our leaders – these are the marching orders of our board,” Maricich added.
The 2017 inductees – individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of the U.S. furniture industry – will be honored with the American home furnishings industry’s highest honor at the Induction Celebration on Oct. 15 during the High Point Market.
