FastFact: New Home Sales Surge, but Sales of Existing Units Fall in Q3

A slight drop in existing home sales in the third quarter was more than offset by a 23.1% gain in sales if new single-family homes, according to data from the National Association of Realtors.
The data showed that home sales got off to a slow start in 2016, growing just 1.6% in the first quarter. However, that was followed by double-digit gains in the second and third quarters.
