Report: Former Sleepy’s Exec Claims He Was Bilked by Ponzi Scheme

Former Sleepy’s executive Adam Blank claims he lost more than $1.5 million in a Ponzi scheme involving tickets for the hit Broadway show “Hamilton” and other popular events, according to a story in USA Today.

The story said Blank, who was at the helm of Sleepy’s when it was acquired by Mattress Firm in February 2016, sued broker-dealer Tripoint Global Equities and accused the firm of operating a Ponzi scheme that used investors’ money for personal expenses.

Earlier this year, the Securities and Exchange Commission sued two men affiliated with Tripoint and charged them with running an illegal Ponzi scheme involving ticket resales.
