SFC Webinar to Discuss Responsible Down Standard

The Sustainable Furnishings Council is sponsoring a Feb. 16 webinar focusing on the Responsible Down Standard, a voluntary global standard aimed at eliminating live-plucking and force-feeding of animals in the down and feather supply chain.
The one-hour webinar, which begins at 12 noon ET, will be led by Anne Gillespie of the Textile Exchange.
Gillespie will explain the background on the development of the standard, and discuss how to implement the standard in the supply chain, and communicate it to customers.
The Standard requires stringent audits on the farm, and a strong chain of custody from the farm to the final product. It also requires a third-party audit and certification through an approved certification body.
