Heritage Home Donates 30K for WithIt Scholarships

WithIt will grant 20 scholarships this year to students and professional women in the industry to further their education.

Laura Holland, vice president of marketing at HHG, and the company’s other WithIt members were on hand to present the check to WithIt’s Managing Director Amy Van Dorp and Development Director Cathy Smith. 

“HHG is proud to once again be able to partner with the WithIt team to grant scholarships to deserving recipients with a passion for the home and furnishings industry,” said Holland.

This marks the second consecutive year that HHG’s Charitable Trust has made a major donation to the scholarship foundation.

“In celebration of our 20th anniversary year, WithIt set out to accomplish some very exciting goals, one being to award scholarships to 20 recipients this year,” says 2017 WithIt President Dorian Stacy Sims.  “With the generosity and support of this wonderful contribution from HHG, we will successfully reach one of our goals and positively impact the lives of others that share a desire to strengthen our industry.”

Since its inception in 1998, WithIt’s foundation has awarded over $80,000 in tuition scholarships to qualified young women and men in universities across the U.S. who are pursuing majors that impact the home and furnishings industries.

Along with a tuition scholarship, students receive an all-expense paid trip to WithIt’s annual professional conference which affords them the opportunity to meet and network with women from the industry and build upon skills they can use in their pursuit of a career within the industry.
