Denver Mattress Helps Salvation Army Set Fund-Raising Record

Colorado-based retailer Denver Mattress matched the first $150,000 in donations to the Salvation Army Intermountain Division’s recent holiday fund drive, helping the group set a record for the annual event.

The campaign, which was named “Together Doing Even More Good,” generated total donations of more than $500,000. It marked the 17th straight year Denver Mattress had made the matching contribution.

"We are extremely grateful for the outpouring of generosity by so many in our community, including our longstanding partner Denver Mattress," said Lt. Col. Daniel Starrett, divisional commander. "With the incredible success of this year's holiday campaign, the Intermountain Division will be able to help so many more Coloradans in need."

The campaign ran from Thanksgiving Day to Christmas Day.

Beyond its financial gift, Denver Mattress also created a dedicated landing page (www.denvermattresscares.com) to support the campaign as well as in-store signage, e-mail blasts, direct mailers, newspaper ads, television spots, and paid media.

"As a company, we are truly honored to be a small part of the inspiring work done each and every day by The Salvation Army," said Dan Visser, president of Denver Mattress. "We cannot thank enough those who joined us this year and in years past."
