In his new post, Ladd is responsible for every facet of the company's finances, including the management of financial risk for Art Van Furniture and its suite of brands, as well as the development and execution of the company's financial planning.
As part of his role, Ladd will oversee the company's financial department team, ensuring all financial goals are met and in alignment with Art Van Furniture's vision for the future.
"David has proven to have the right mix of industry know-how and drive that make him the perfect addition to our growing Art Van Furniture team," said Kim Yost, CEO of Art Van Furniture. "His vast knowledge of the inner workings of the financial retail landscape will serve as a valuable asset for us as we position our company for sustained significant growth across our suite of brands in the Midwest."
Prior to joining Art Van, Ladd spent more than 20 years in a variety of finance posts at Kmart and Sears. Most recently, he was vice president of finance, retail stores, and was responsible for all 1,500 Sears and Kmart locations.
He started as an auditor for K-Mart and progressed throughout the Sears organization with several divisional vice president - finance roles, including home services, automotive, supply chain and corporate.
"Art Van Furniture is a staple in Michigan's retail industry and having grown up here, I was always very familiar with the organization," said Ladd. "To have the opportunity to work for such an iconic retailer is very exciting, and I look forward to returning to my home state and being a part of the Art Van Furniture team.”
