Surya Receives Design Excellence Honors at Magnificent Carpet Awards

Held each year during the Atlanta International Area Rug Market, American’s Magnificent Carpet Awards honor the year’s best new designs and constructions from leading rug manufacturers.

Resembling a zero pile hand-knotted rug, Tessera – constructed of polypropylene and cotton –merges traditional and mosaic tile designs with bright, multi-color hues and a relaxed hand for a vivid vintage look. The bold, color palette includes teal, garnet, dark blue, light gray, burnt orange and black.

“We are honored to have been selected for this prestigious award,” said Satya Tiwari, president, Surya. “Our product development team works each season to create new designs that are ever more relevant and accessible to today’s consumers.”

“Our goal with the Tessera collection and other recent machine made collections is to put great design within reach of everyone and allow people with more limited design budgets to express themselves with color. We wanted to design rugs that have a traditional feel but update them to be more daring and fun.”
