Cresent Promotes McCullen, Hamlin to Key Operations Posts

In a strategic move aimed at strengthening its domestic and Asian operations, solid wood bedroom and dining room resource Cresent Fine Furniture has promoted two long-term employees to vice president positions.

The company said Jason McCullen has been named vice president of U.S. operations and will remain in the company’s Gallatin, Tenn., headquarters, while Andy Hamlin has been named vice president of Asian operations and is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

“Both Jason and Andy are critical to keeping our product flowing from our factory in Vietnam to our warehouses in Tennessee and Vietnam, and then on to our retail partners,” said Jody Condra, CEO. “Their expertise in quality control, supply chain management and overall logistics have been critical to the success of our business model.”

McCullen has been with Cresent for nearly 30 years, joining the company during high school through a Co-Operative Education Program. In his early days with the company, he swept and cleaned machinery. For many years, McCullen was Cresent’s lead production engineer, and for the last 10 years has managed Cresent’s logistics and traffic, among other duties.

In his new position, McCullen reports to Taylor Condra, Cresent’s president and chief operating officer.

“Throughout his nearly 30 years with Cresent, Jason has become known for his adaptability, dedication to excellence, and capable leadership,” Taylor Condra said. “He is the guy everybody wants on their team, and I am glad that he is on ours as our new vice president of U.S. operations.”

Hamlin has been with Cresent since 2009 as country manager for the company’s Vietnam operations. In his new position as vice president of Asian operations, Hamlin is responsible for quality control and factory and supply chain management. He supervises Cresent’s quality control and the company’s office teams in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

A 32-year veteran of the furniture industry, Hamlin started his industry career as product engineer and machine room supervisor for Young Manufacturing Co. He held various positions with Lexington Home Brands, including plant manager and new product project manager. In 2005, Hamlin relocated to Asia as technical director for Outlook International China and country manager for the company’s Vietnam operations. In 2007, Hamlin was named supply chain manager for Home Meridian International.

In his new position, Hamlin reports to Jody Condra.

“Andy is a proven member of the Cresent quality control and logistics team,” he said. “His experience in Asian operations has been invaluable to our growth over the last several years. We rely on Andy’s expertise to ensure quality in our products and the seamless flow of product.”
