Pillow-Making Kiosk to be Displayed at Las Vegas Market

Fill Station Pillow Kiosk, an in-store custom pillow-making system developed by mattress retailer Arthur Watkins, is making its furniture market debut at this month’s Las Vegas Market.

Watkins, who recently began licensing the kiosks after a successful test period in his Spring Hill, Tenn., store said he’s hoping to interest other independent furniture and mattress retailers in the program.

“The kiosk not only brings customers into the store, but it lays the foundation for developing a long-term relationship with them,” Watkins said.

At the Jan. 22-26 market, a kiosk will be set up in space B-270-05.

The Fill Station Pillow Kiosk allows customers to build, refill or remake their pillow from scratch. First-time customers select the size of their cotton pillow shell. Next, they create their own custom level of support and comfort by choosing any combination of super soft poly foam, buckwheat hulls, shredded memory foam, shredded latex and/or goose down.

The kiosk can produce more than 100 different custom pillows and can build a pillow in less than five minutes while customers wait, watch and check out other merchandise in the store.

The program comes with an assortment of pillow covers and protectors designed to meet specific needs of the consumer.

Especially popular with children are pillow covers that feature a blue cat, green dinosaur and purple unicorn.  Watkins said these covers are specially designed to draw families into the store, and he urges licensees to stage pillow-building events that allow children to make the pillow of their dreams. Kids can even adopt a name for their pillow friend and have their pillow registered, he explained.

“It is our mission is to create a competitive edge for retailers, drive traffic, increase store revenue, and help licensees create a fun and entertaining experience for their customers,” said Watkins.

Businesses who partner with Fill Station Group are provided with a social media marketing strategy that includes weekly ads and an ongoing customer communication program.

“We provide customers with a unique experience,” said Watkins. “We make it fun and easy, while demonstrating how a fully custom, affordable pillow can support a healthy spine, ease head, neck and spine discomfort, and enhance sleep.”
