Morris Furniture Opens First Columbus Store

Morris Furniture, which operates stores in the Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio, markets, has opened its first store in Columbus, Ohio.

The new store, the first of three planned for the Columbus market, is near one of the country’s most successful lifestyle centers, Easton Town Center, according to Larry Klaben, president and CEO of Morris Furniture.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening festivities are scheduled for Jan. 12 from 6-8 p.m.

“We are thrilled to open our first Morris Home showroom in the fastest growing market in Ohio,” Klaben said. “Our second Columbus location will be on Gemini Place near Columbus’ largest retail shopping mall, Polaris Fashion Place. Construction on this two-story showroom is underway with a mid- 2017 opening planned.”

He said the new store is branded as Morris Home rather than Morris Home Furnishings. Existing Dayton and Cincinnati Morris Home Furnishings showrooms are in the process of being rebranded and updated to mirror the new look and feel of the Columbus showroom.

“The showroom includes Lifestyle Galleries that define Morris Home,” said Klaben. “The galleries feature furniture and home décor that is current and stylish but of the best quality and value that consumers in Dayton and Cincinnati have come to depend on since the first store opened in 1947.”

“Our beautiful new Columbus showroom gives shoppers the opportunity to envision their family in each inspiring lifestyle room complete with accessories, accent rugs and lighting to help create a total home,” added Michael Carter, vice president of sales. “The response from our customers has been terrific. Columbus customers love our new showroom and the ease of finding the furnishings that they have been searching for.”

In addition to the Columbus location, the retailer operates four Morris Home and three Morris Back Room stores in the Dayton and Cincinnati markets. The company also operates 10 Ashley Furniture HomeStores in the Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati markets.
