The new product, called the Sleep Number 360, is powered by the company's proprietary SleepIQ technology – the latest in biometric sleep tracking – and intuitively senses and automatically adjusts comfort to keep both partners sleeping soundly all night, the company said.
The smart bed "will forever transform the way people sleep, and improve wellbeing through better quality sleep," Select Comfort said in a press release announcing the product rollout.
The Sleep Number 360 smart bed was named the CES Innovation Awards “Best of Innovation” honoree in the Home Appliances category, an award given to the highest-rated product or technology in the category. The bed also was named an honoree in both the Smart Home category and Embedded Technologies category.
“Today we are excited to unveil the future of sleep: the Sleep Number 360 smart bed, a revolutionary product that redefines what people should expect from their bed,” said Shelly Ibach, Select Comfort president and CEO. “A great night of quality sleep is essential to a healthy mind, body and soul. Consumers love that the Sleep Number 360 smart bed automatically adjusts during the night to ensure you have your best sleep ever.”
In addition to the self-adjusting comfort, the new bed has automatic snore detection, which raises the sleeper's head by seven degrees to relieve the symptoms of common, mild snoring; a foot warmer that allows a person to fall asleep faster; and a smart alarm feature that sounds when a person Is In their lightest stage of sleep during their desired wake-up time window.
The company said the new product will be available in its retail stores during the first half of 2017.
CES begins Thursday in Las Vegas, and Select Comfort is showing in booth 43013 in Sands Halls A-D.
